Peddling inspired mediocrity since 2001, The Horse Chronicles was born as a love letter to artists wrecked by heroin—because nothing pairs better than genius and self‑sabotage. Nearly 25 years later, we’ve ditched the junkies and turned our gaze to actual artists, the ones still alive to make questionable choices. The name’s still terrible, the art’s still brilliant, and honestly—why not? The world’s circling the drain anyway.

Launching 09/01/2025

In the first issue:

  • Vincent Gallo’s Career – A deep examination of his uncompromising artistic path and why it still matters.

  • The Top Ten Songs to Listen to While Depressed – A curated playlist blending bed rotting with existential reflection.

  • The Five Worst Movies Ever Made – A critical breakdown of cinematic disasters and what we can learn from them.

  • Sedona, Arizona Isn’t Worth Visiting – A candid travel piece on why the myth of Sedona doesn’t match reality.

September 2025. Mark your calendars—or don’t.

A Word From The Editor

Twenty-five years ago, The Horse Chronicles was a messy love letter to artists living as close to the edge as their veins would allow. We romanticized chaos, the kind you could smell on a stage or in a dingy loft apartment. It was never about the headlines—it was about the truth.

Somewhere along the way, the world got stranger than the art. Heroin chic became corporate coffee, counterculture became content, and everyone decided they were an artist if they could hold a phone. We stopped publishing—not because the fire burned out, but because the noise got too loud to hear the music. And I got cancer. And then it went away.

Now, in 2025, we’re back. Not to rehash the past, but to point the spotlight where it belongs: on real artists, real work, and the absurdity of a world unraveling around them. We’re not here to inspire hope—we’re here to document what’s left of beauty before the lights go out or AI makes any influencer famous one more time!

This first issue is exactly what it should be: a collision of the brilliant and the ridiculous. Vincent Gallo’s defiant career and how he’s the last Hollywood movie star- or at least what one should be. The best (and worst) culture has to offer. The things you should know before the end—whether that’s how to count cards, make a five-dollar lunch, or avoid Sedona. And, of course, music- junkies and Vegans alike.

If you’re here for comfort, you’ve picked up the wrong magazine. But if you’re here to see art as it is—brutal, brilliant, unfiltered—then welcome back to The Horse Chronicles.
